Hello humans, I’m Yasmine!

I came to FDHS from a really scary place and life before was very different. I did not have space to move, I didn’t know what it felt like to be safe or cared for, and everything around me was loud, confusing, and reaaally smelly. On top of that, I had a painful eye problem that needed surgery. When I first arrived, I was scared and unsure about everything. The world felt so big, and I had only known the confinements of a cramped kennel in a hoarding situation.

Luckily for me, the staff at FDHS showed me some major TLC and helped get me on the right track! I was bathed, cuddled, and went to sleep in a clean bed for the first time in my entire life (how cool!?). But shelter life was still pretty overwhelming and I wasn’t making as much progress as the staff would’ve wanted for me in a kennel environment. Thankfully, there was a kind foster home that had taken in my sister Pam and they were willing to let me join their crew!

Being in a foster home and living with my sister Pam has helped me so much. She is playful and loving, and having her around makes me feel safe while I explore this new life. I am discovering what it means to have fun, to get attention when I want it, and to be part of a family. I have even learned to enjoy toys, wrestle sessions, and snuggles. Being cared for and loved makes me so happy and so excited for my future in a forever home.

I really hope to go to a home with Pam, but if that is not possible, I would love to have another friendly, confident dog to help me feel secure and show me how to navigate my new life. I am still learning how to be a house dog, and I will need a patient family who can encourage me and help me keep growing. A safe yard or careful supervision outside will help me feel comfortable as I explore and gain confidence.

I have so much love to give, and I cannot wait to share it with a family who will help me continue discovering how wonderful life can be. If I have a furry friend to play and cuddle with, even better. I promise that if you open your heart to me, I will be the best girl ever!
