Donate to Humane Society Today

Like with any business, it takes money to operate Fort Defiance Humane Society. Do you know where our Humane Society gets the money to cover our operating expenses? Fort Defiance Humane Society is a private, non-profit, independent organization.   We are not funded by taxpayer dollars.  The Humane Society is not controlled by any national organization, but is governed by a local Board of Directors. We are supported by donations from private individuals, businesses, grants, and fees from services provided – this accounts for 93% of our annual income. When you donate to the humane society, we can keep helping local animals. We are only able to continue our work thanks to the support of our community.

FDHS is the ONLY organization in Defiance County rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming local dogs (and cats).  We also employ the area’s only Humane Agent.  Our Humane Agent responds to calls of potential animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment, covering the entire Defiance County area.

Thanks to your gift, second chances for countless abused and abandoned animals are made possible. Please consider giving today. Your kindness does make a difference!
