Josephine may have a grey muzzle and a few creaky joints, but her heart is as full as ever.

This beautiful senior girl came to us as a “stray,” though it’s clear she once knew the comforts of home. She has the loving nature of a dog who was part of a family, which makes it all the more heartbreaking that no one came looking for her.

Shelter life can be overwhelming for any dog, but it’s especially tough on seniors like Josephine who are used to soft beds, quiet rooms, and familiar routines. Despite it all, she remains kind, calm, and hopeful—offering tail wags and soft eyes to everyone who stops by her kennel.

She’s not a puppy anymore, and she deals with some arthritis (we’ve got her on a management plan!), but Josephine still has a playful streak and endless love to give. She’d thrive in a peaceful home where she can relax, be doted on, and soak up all the attention she deserves.

Josephine is ready for foster or adoption—she just needs someone to give her a chance at a cozy, loving retirement.
