Hey, I’m Ivan. I might act like a little tough guy, but the truth is I just want to feel safe and loved.

My brother Dimitri and I came to FDHS after a really hard life. We were forced to stay in tiny crates covered in our own filth. I was shaking, scared, and covered in fleas when I first arrived. I wanted to show I was brave, but it was hard when everything around me felt so overwhelming. The first nice person I saw at the shelter? I immediately hid behind her. The people here seem really nice and I think they’re going to take pretty good care of me.

Even though I try to act like a tough guy, I am still a scared puppy learning to trust. I weigh about ten pounds, but I carry myself like I’m a big dog. I let out little growls, but my big blue eyes tell a different story. I have a big heart and a lot of love to give once I know the world can be kind.

I need a calm and patient home where I can take my time to adjust, explore, and learn that I don’t need to hide or be on guard. I am still young and have so much potential to blossom into a good boy. I might take a little time to let my walls down, but I know I’ll be fiercely loyal to the ones that take the time to get to know me.

My past was hard, but my future can be full of stability, happiness, and the love I have always deserved.
