After spending about a month in a home, Big Red is unfortunately back with us.

Red has made it very clear that he’d really prefer to be the one and only dog in his home. But aside from butting heads with the other dogs, we were told this guy was pretty much literal perfection. He was sweet with his people, generally well mannered, eager to please, and absolutely loved his humans. He was continuously described as such a Good Boy.

It broke everyone’s heart that things didn’t work out, especially knowing how much Red loved having a family of his own.

Honestly, the hardest part is watching him come back to the shelter after getting a little taste of what home life was like. Red is understandably pretty bummed to be back, and we’re really hoping he doesn’t have to spend much time here before his perfect match comes along.

He may not want a canine roommate, but we know there’s a family out there who will be perfectly happy being his whole world. Red’s perfect match is out there. We just need to find them.
