This 4 year old Weimaraner/Lab mix recently came to FDHS in search of a fresh start, but you would never guess he’s had a rough patch. Happy greets every day with a huge grin, a wagging tail, and enough enthusiasm to light up the whole shelter.

He loves people, enjoys exploring outside, keeps a pretty clean kennel, and seems like a very smart boy. Happy is SUPER strong on leash and will need someone willing to help him polish up his walking manners, but his zest for life is impossible not to love.

We were told Happy can be selective with other dogs, though we are hopeful that once he is neutered he may be more open to making canine friends. We have not yet tested him with cats. Happy is also recovering from severe flea dermatitis and is still growing back some of the fur he lost. With time, love, and proper care, he’ll be looking and feeling better than ever.
