Nicole is looking for her forever home!
This pretty girl was originally surrendered to us last summer and was adopted shortly after she arrived. Unfortunately, that home just wasn’t the right fit for her, and she’s now been back at FDHS for a couple of months. We’ve been surprised she hasn’t had much interest, because Nicole really is a great dog. She’s a well-mannered, low-key kind of girl who loves her people and settles in beautifully once she feels comfortable.
Nicole is still pretty fearful of strange men, though we have seen some really nice progress with her male caregivers here. Because of this, she would do best in a home with lots of “girl power” where she can feel safe and relaxed while she continues building confidence at her own pace. She’s been wonderful with most other dogs and has been pretty indifferent toward cats. She also keeps an immaculate kennel and is the best kind of snugglebug once she’s with her people.
Nicole is still working on her leash confidence, but she’s making steady baby steps thanks to our dog walking volunteers who have been helping her learn the world isn’t so scary. One thing about Nicole is that she bonds deeply with her chosen person or people. She would love a home where she isn’t left alone too often, though she does crate up well when needed.
She is such a sweet pup and we know her perfect home is out there waiting for her.
