Join the FDHS Team!!

 As FDHS has grown over the years, so has the need for more dedicated volunteers.  There are several opportunities available including:

  • Walk dogs
  •  Play with cats
  • General cleaning
  • Visit schools with animals and give educational programs
  • Work with fundraising
  • Help at events incuding Strut Your Mutt, Monte Carlo Night, etc.
  • Bathe and groom animals
  • Socialize animals
  • Participate in "Project Dog"
  • Help with mailings
  • Help prepare the newsletter
  • Apply for grants
  • Add to landscaping
  • Visit nursing homes with animals 

 

 WANTED: Board Members

You may not be able to do everything, but you can at least do something.  After all, every act of kindness counts.  Call the shelter to find out what you can do or how you can get involved as a Board member. The Board meets once a month and is involved in many aspects of the FDHS including fundraising, public relations, and assisting in the day-to-day operations at the shelter.  To become involved email  newbestfriend@fortdefiancehumanesociety.org
