Timber is a 5-year-old German Shepherd who lives for fresh air and adventure. Whether you’re hiking a trail, tending to the property, or simply enjoying a long walk, he’s happiest when he’s out exploring the world with his person. He was recently surrendered, so he’s still adjusting to shelter life, but we already know plenty about what makes him shine.

Timber has a wonderful foundation of manners. He’s leash-trained, potty-trained, and has spent time at daycare and the groomer — so he knows how to be on his best behavior out and about. He’s a very smart boy, too, and already knows sit, wait, here, shake, and down. He enjoys the company of other dogs and does well with older children who respect his space and energy level.

Now, Timber is not a dog for every home — he has plenty of drive and enthusiasm, which can be too much for small children or cats. Crates and tie-outs? He’d prefer a more comfortable setup, thank you. And while he does warm up, new places and new situations can make him a bit unsure at first.

Timber will thrive in a home that offers structure, routine, mental stimulation, and plenty of activity — followed by an evening of well-earned relaxation. He weighs about 70 pounds, is neutered, and is up to date on vaccinations and monthly prevention as of October 2025.
